Obituary of Wayne Brown
Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Brown, who brought joy, kindness, and a zest for life to all who knew him.
Born on September 10,1946 in Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Wayne cherished life’s simple pleasures and the company of good friends. With his life partner and best friend Cheryl, they created lasting memories while traveling extensively, enjoying evenings at Frankie’s Club, where Wayne loved singing around the piano, and savoring special moments at Royal Artillery Park with friends, including Wayne and Cheryl’s very dear friend, Diane Kirk.
Early summer mornings on the golf course with Paul, Tom, Rick and Lloyd were among Wayne’s favorite moments, reflecting his love for camaraderie, laughter, and the outdoors.
Wayne was predeceased by his first wife, Diane (nee Ballard), his father William Brown, mother Viola Cora, sisters Claudette and Lynn, and brother James. He leaves to mourn his devoted partner Cheryl Parnell, his beloved daughter Deena Brown, and stepson Todd Parnell, along with many friends whose lives he deeply touched.
A proud 50 plus year member of the Sackville Legion, Wayne was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his unwavering dedication and service.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Flinn and the outstanding nursing staff at the Victoria General Palliative Care Unit in Halifax for their compassionate and support along with Dr. Eddy Kinley for a lifetime of excellent medical help.
In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no formal celebration of life. Instead, the family invites you to honor his memory by performing an act of kindness in his name. Wayne’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
