Q: How did you meet Derrick?
A: I met Derrick thru Basketball, when We were all Younger. He was A Nice Person, and Always had A Great Laugh around Him, His Brother Todd or Derrick's Sisters. Great Guy Derrick, You will be missed, It was a pleasure knowing You Derrick.

Derrick thank you for the laughs. You always had a smile on your face no matter what and you were always ready for a joke. You welcomed me every time I came on Wright hill to play with my friend Shawna and the entire family embraced me like a sister. Rest easy my brother. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Wright family and to Derrick's children. May God continue to bless you during this difficult time. Hello Family, All
I’m hearing the sad news, my heart first went out to his sister, my friend Carolann. And I thought of family, if siblings, how we grow up together, our memories and love for one another. To each of you, his loving children, grandchildren I trust you’ll be always comforted in the love, the laughter, the strength and the Wonderful Character of your Dad. In reading the well written obituary I couldn’t help but smile remembering how we’d all enjoy Derricks dancing and his character. He and his brother were All That! Oh, back in the day, as community and family, we saw one another.
And now, May you as his loving family sense the love and comfort of our Heavenly Father. He cares., Hold them up Lord.

I remember Derrick years ago as a reservist in the military with my brothers he was always optimistic and funny. Rest easy Derrick and God Bless the family during this difficult time.

Derrick made my childhood and young adulthood absolutely amazing. It was full of fun an laughter. And let’s not get into the bus rides to and from school lol His jokes would run from sun up to sun down and our countless banter at each other keeps me laughing on a daily basis. You kept me company and amused during the pandemic with our FaceTime drinks and laughter together You will be missed
