Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sharon Gloria Ann Barrie, 62 Dominion, N.S. We, the family, regret to announce the loss of our beloved Sharon, October 18, 2024. After a long and difficult illness, we are comforted in knowing she is now at peace and surrounded by love and happiness in paradise. Sharon was the youngest daughter of the late Doris (nee; Lumsden) Barrie, and stepdaughter of the late Weston McGowan, both of Sydney Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by daughters Charlene (Charlie) and Cara, in infancy, whom she is now happily reunited with, along with her dearest friend and companion Michael "Teddy" McNeil. Sharon will be remembered for her generous spirit and her kindness to everyone. As a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, we will miss her wonderful sense of humor, the many laughs, along with the beautiful meals she loved to prepare and share with friends and family. Left to mourn her passing, are two sisters, Colleen Elizabeth Barrie-Williams, North Sydney, NS and Donna Tobin (Kevin DeDieu) of Glace Bay, NS, daughters, Kelly Barrie, Alberta, Sarah Barrie and Skye Barrie, both of New Brunswick and son Jacob Barrie, Nova Scotia. Sharon was the proud Nanna to her beautiful grandchildren, Bobby and Emily (Kelly), Aidan, Lillian and Elijah (Skye), as well as Olivia, Emily and Thomas (Sarah). She will always be remembered as "Aunty Wildcat" to her cherished nieces and nephews, April, Justin and Christian (Colleen), Crystal, Stephanie, Matthew and Jesse (Donna), as well as her much loved grandnieces and nephews, Mia and Ian (Stephanie), Piper (Matthew), Dylan (Crystal), Jesse and Easton (Jesse). Sharon will always be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by longtime friend Dennis (Red) Buchanan, Sydney NS. Cremation has taken place under the care of T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. At Sharon’s request, in lieu of a memorial service, she asked that we each pass on a smile or a simple act of kindness towards a stranger, or anyone you know who may be fighting a difficult battle.
