Please share a memory of Loretta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
WALKER, Loretta Jean, 77 of Terence Bay passed away suddenly on November 18, 2024, in the QEII V.G. Hospital Palliative Care Ward. Born in Halifax to the late Salomie and Martin Murphy. Loretta was an extraordinary person. In her early years she took pride in her work and also, she enjoyed working with her husband Rick. Loretta loved going to bingo over the years and in her last year she enjoyed sharing stories of “Ronnie’s Winnings” when he came home as a “Lucky Bugger”. She liked to watch a good western movie. She enjoyed going to get a coffee and a doughnut and maybe also a cookie too. Loretta really enjoyed going to Shubie Park to feed the ducks and have the squirrels come right up on her lap to sit and eat peanuts, as well she was blown away by feeding the black headed chickadees right out of her hand. She also got to share the experience with her son Robert, and he also thought it was great. Loretta really loved Oliver (cat) and Abby (dog) and spending relaxing time with them out on the deck in the sun. Loretta has spent the past years living in Terence Bay and found it peaceful. She loved the pampered care that Tina (niece) and Ronnie, external homecare have given her. Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who met her. She is survived by her son, Robert Walker of Fort McMurray, Keith Howard of Ontario; sisters, Shirley (Jim) Little, Barbara (Gary) Creelman; grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Loretta was predeceased by her husband and best friend Rick Walker; brothers, Mart Murphy, Edward “Ted” Murphy, William Murphy; sisters, Aileen Aucoin, and Marilyn Demone. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice. We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax for their compassion and care shown towards Loretta during her stay.
