Obituary of Joanne Cecilia Faulds

Joanne Cecilia Faulds, born November 13th, 1935, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Memorial Hospital on November 14th, 2024. Joanne served in the Army Reserves for over 30 years as part of the 33rd Service Battalion where she was known as “Mom”. She then went on to work at the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for 18 years stationed in Halifax hospitals. In 1998 she received an award for notifying the emergency department of the Swiss Air III crash. Joanne is survived by her daughter Cindy Hiles and her sister, Brenda (Paul) Shirreffs; 5 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Charles Hiles, her son Kenny Hiles, grandchildren Gregory and Jessica Hiles, and her companion Kenneth Hill. Special thanks to the staff of the Veterans Memorial Hospital 4E. Funeral service will be held in TJ Tracey Funeral Home in 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Beechville, NS, Saturday 23 November 2024 at 11:00 am with an interment to follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
