Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marion Odessa Jennings, 74 of Hemfort Forest passed away on Oct 18, 2024 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Agatha Jennings. Mom was born in Liverpool N.S., moved to Bridgewater as a young child, and then married and moved to Clearland where she raised 4 children. Mom was an extremely hardworking individual. She worked up until last year, when she developed health issues. She began her career working at the Riverport fish plant then moving on to National Sea. Once retired she started house cleaning on her own which gave her great pleasure. She met some amazing people, and loved their company as much as they loved hers. She was well respected, trusted and would go above and beyond the normal house cleaning duties. She truly enjoyed your friendships- Franceen, Philip, Joanne and Sarah, and those who passed before her. You became more like family then her clients. She taught us also to be hard working, to be strong and independent, to be respectful and help others with no expectations in return. She was not only a great mother to us, but she was a 2nd mother to the kids in our community. Most people knew mom as being outspoken, a “spit fire”, but she was always in our corner, and there when you needed her the most, even when you didn’t know you needed her. We have learned so much from our mother and we have such wonderful memories to cherish. Mom didn’t have many hobbies, but she enjoyed her nights out playing bingo. Her greatest hobby was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The love she had for them was immeasurable. She loved having them over playing loud music and dancing, playing games, movie nights and “late night parties”. She was so proud of them all. They were the love of her life. We would like to thank Kerry H for always being there for mom, you where only a phone call away. As well to her family and friends, she enjoyed your time together, the long phone conversations, the laughter, the fun, she loved you all. She always had great stories to share. Thank you! She is survived by her children: Janet (Dave), Greg (Amy) and Ann (Jody); grandchildren: Roger Jr. (Nicolle), Jonathan (Mallory), Brandon, Lacey, Brooklyn, Tanner, Ethan, Grace, Nathaniel and Wyatt; great grandchildren: Rhys, Rosalie and Skyler; sisters: Shirley, Paula (Tony), Roslie (Mike) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, loving son Gilbert “Gibby” Joseph Jr.; Siblings: Maynard, Charlotte and John. A special thank you to Dr. A Wallace, SSRH, Dr. Buckler, Dr. Jenkins and FMH medical staff for all your exceptional care and support during this time. No service per her request. You will be forever missed mom, Janet, Greg and Ann
