Elizabeth Seward, age 84 of Bell Island, NL passed away surrounded by her family on October 22, 2024. Elizabeth, known by her family and friends as Betty or Bet, was the beloved daughter of the late Jean (Andrews) Crane and raised by her late grandparents John and Elizabeth Andrews. She is survived by her sons Todd (Denise) Seward, Roger (Judy) Seward, daughter Nicole (Curtis) Burrage; grandchildren Ryan (Jessica), Jessica (David), Max and Mark Seward and step grandchildren Evan and Senna Hollihan; brother John (Diane) Crane; sisters Judy (Robert) Collins, Rhonda (Clint) Walsh, Cynthia (Brian) Sooley and in-laws Peter Seward Jr. & Donna Seward as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Edwin Seward; her step-father William Crane; her sisters Barbara Burton and Rhoda Crane; brother Willam Jr. Crane; her brother-in-laws Edward Burton, Ronald Seward and Leonard Hindy; her sister-in-law Sybil Hindy; her daughter-in-law, Mary Lambert and her much loved and admired, Aunt Marion Piercey. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of friends that she loved very much. Betty was a proud Bell Islander. She loved her little island off the coast of mainland Newfoundland and would regale her children with fond memories of her childhood. Her family meant the world to her and she always did everything to make each and every one happy. She was a loving mother known for her warmth and vibrant spirit. Betty left home at a young age to train at the Grace School of Nursing. She went on to dedicate her life to helping those in need. She was amazing, compassionate and cherished by her fellow nurses and patients. Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was shopping for the perfect gift, enjoying tea with close friends, cuddling her grandpuppies, or hosting and participating in family gatherings that brought everyone together. She was a beacon of love and light and will be forever loved and always missed. Our family extends special thanks to the dedicated staff at Caritas Independent Living Home and the nurses at QEII - with special thanks to Mona, Sitti, and Monika. Your compassionate care and unwavering support provided comfort and dignity to our beloved mother during her final days. We are profoundly grateful for the kindness you shared with her and our family.
