Obituary of Doug Billard

Douglas J.A. Billard, 64, born November 22, 1959 of Shad Bay.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother and long-time friend, on Friday September 20, 2024, Doug passed peacefully at home.
Doug was retired from Dalhousie University as a sprinkler fitter, previous to that he was a long-time member of local 56, employed as a sprinkler fitter.
Music was his life, he loved playing his guitar, singing, and of course Keith’s beer! Always had a passion for old automobiles and loved to laugh.
Doug was survived by his son, Andrew (Michele), they were best of friends and loved each other deeply; sisters, Donna Kokil (Nick), Winnipeg, and Debbie (Harris) Johnson, Prospect Bay; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Douglas & Sylvia (Slaunwhite) Billard; and his infant brother Darren.
Honouring Doug’s wishes, he has been cremated, there will be no service. Burial at sea will take place on Saturday October 5th, 2024 at 12:00pm, at 4075 Prospect Road, Shad Bay – Dockside and Celebration of Life to follow at the dock, hosted by long-time friend, Stephen Kiley, thank you Uncle Stephen.
