Sincere condolences to Ernie's family at this time of loss. I am grateful for the good memories of friendship shared and for his service to God in Hamilton while he attended Philpott Memorial Church.

We moved from Ontario to Chester one incredibly rainy miserable day in 2011. We knew no-one in Nova Scotia.
The following morning we ventured out to see our new surroundings, and finished unloading our car. We looked up to see a man with a broad, welcoming smile striding across the lawn, introducing himself to us and explaining that he lived two doors away. He added if we needed anything we should be sure to let him know.
What a wonderful introduction to a new province and community.
We came to know Ernie and Margie and have been proud to call them our friends from then on.

Marty and I made a trip to Florida to see Marg (my first cousin) and Ernie. I can attest the day ended in a y, and we were off to the golf course within minutes of arriving! We had no shoes, jacket, clubs etc but Ernie fixed us up perfectly with the help of his closet and staff at the golf course. Though it was very windy and cold, we sure enjoyed the course and company of Marg and Ernie. So many laughs, finishing up the day with a lovely dinner. When we get there, Ernie, we will meet at the 19th hole! Xoxo Louise Sherren, Marty Gravely, Rochon Sands, Alberta.
