Obituary of George Dennis Poirier

George Dennis Poirier, 59 Dominion, N.S. It is with deep sadness that we the family of George Dennis Poirier, 59, of Dominion, announce his sudden passing in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his family at his side. George was the son of the late Cyril and Bridget Poirier of Dominion. George was employed at Soundafex, Sydney, until its closing. He was a kind and gentle man, who liked walking along Dominion Beach with his dog Pebbles. George was also the go to guy when family, friends, and neighbors needed work done on their computers. George is survived by two brothers: Cyril (Cheryl), Glace Bay, and John D (Brenda), Dominion; three sisters: Coleen Sponagle, Glace Bay, Bridget Musial, Dominion, and Rita (Steve Jessome), New Waterford; as well as nieces Stephanie and Jennifer, and many other nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with his parents, George was predeceased by his sister Paulette, brother Jimmy, niece Katelyn Aucoin, and brother-in-law Morris Musial. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Heart/Stroke Association. The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU, CBRH, for going above and beyond for our dear brother George.
