Obituary of Charles Browner

Charles Browner, 79 Dominion, N.S. It is with deep sadness that we the family of Charles Browner, Dominion, N.S., announce his passing in the New Waterford Hospital, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, with his family at his side. Charles was the son of the late Charles and Bertha (McNeil) Browner. For approximately 30 years Charles was a coal miner in various mines on Cape Breton Island. He was a lifelong member of the Dominion Community Hawks Club; Charles loved to fish, hunt, play darts, as well as play a good game of cards with family and friends; and anytime the children had a question for Charles, he always had the answer. Charles is survived by his wife Catherine (Katie) Currie of 58 years; three sons: Charles Jr. (Desire), Derek (Alex) and David (Andrea); two daughters: Adele Browner (Dwayne) and Kim Pyke (Jack); a brother Tom Browner (Linda); two sisters: Veronica (Lloyd) and Blanche (Joe); eight grandchildren: Amanda, Cory, Tayler, Charles, Natasha, Wendi, Olivia, Bronson; four step-grandchildren: Chris, Jadin, Maria, and Sophia; nine great-grandchildren: Skyler, Chloe, Isaiah, Isaac, Jasmine, Harper, Matthew, Madison, Baylee and Mason. Along with his parents, Charles was predeceased by three sisters Anna Musseau, Julia Mac Carthy, and Josephine McNiel. Our family would like to thank the Nursing Staff, Security, Student Workers, Kitchen, and Housekeeping Staff in New Waterford Consolidated Hospital; we deeply appreciate all the kindness and compassion shown to our family and to Charles during his stay there. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 1 p.m., with Fr. MacPhee presiding, in T.J.
