Obituary of Pauline Mary Kelly (Fitzgerald)

Please share a memory of Pauline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Pauline. Our Beloved Pauly-Wally left this world Aug. 5th, 2024, at the Veterans Memorial hospital Halifax surrounded by her loving family after living a long, loving, happy life. Pauline is finally reunited with the love of her life (her Bunny) MacDonald (Michael) Kelly who passed away Jan.12th 2020, and many family members that have gone before her. Pauline was a lifelong resident of Timberlea and was often found at the family’s store, Fitzgerald Grocery busy working and socializing. Pauline enjoyed baking, gardening, painting, spending time with her family and taking good care of her much cherished nails. Loved her lotto tickets and was extremely lucky at finding four leaf clovers all her life. Pauline was very caring and loved helping anyone in the community in need, mostly anonymously. Polly loved to travel with many trips to the Caribbean, the highlight of her travels was to Norway in her 20’s with her best friend Edris to pick potatoes. Polly loved her treats! She could be persuaded to do anything with the promise of “treatys”. Pauline was predeceased by her Husband, MacDonald (Michael) Kelly; Parents, Frank and Annie (Sherlock) Fitzgerald; brothers, Gerald and Kenneth; Sisters, Marguerite Sharkey & Evelyn; Sister in law, Dorothy; Niece, Deborah Sharkey; and Nephew, Owen Sharkey. Survived by Sisters, Carolyn Goodwin, Timberlea; Donna Tupper, Ottawa; Maureen Carpenter, Halifax. Many Nieces and nephews both Great and Great Great, too many to mention. Special Thanks to the Veterans Memorial Hospital 3rd floor East staff. Pauline’s care team: Paramed Home Care, Kaleigh Webster, Erin Webster, Rachel Dauphinee & Rev. Elaine Walcott. You will be forever missed, so happy you are reunited with the love of your life Mike. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Fallen Limb Author Unknown A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me”. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we’re together again.
