As one of the many children who lived on Douglas Ave. in the 40's, 50's Elsie was a fearless friend. She loved playing the games we all gathered to play after supper and into dark. I will remember her always as I am sure we all will who lived there.

My dear sweet and crazy Aunt Elsie. A woman with a big heart and a nonstoppable zest for laughing or making others laugh. The first thing she would ask me when I walked in the door "have you eaten yet" "do you want a cup of tea" Thank you Aunt Elsie and Uncle Gary for your love and support when I came to stay at your house each summer when we visited from Ontario....I will never ever forget the long days filled with fun and madness with all my cousins growing up....they really were the BEST days ever!!!....It was always sad leaving to go back home. Thank you for your generosity when I lived with you for a short time when mum and dad retired and moved back to Ontario.....you made all the difference in my life....and Cape Breton will always be in my blood and a piece of my heart is there. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the whole family for letting me blend and for making me feel like family when I was with you. There will be tough days ahead - lean on the good memories. I am sending you all love and comfort and hope you can find peace in knowing that she is free of her suffering and reunited with your loved ones who have gone before her.
May you rest in sweet, sweet peace. xo

My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom, grandmother and sister. I met Elsie through her sister Cookie many, many years ago and she gave me one of her litter of puppies whom we named Jenny and had 12 beautiful years with her. Rest in Peace Elsie
