Obituary of Margo Ann HEMMING

Margo Ann Hemming, 86, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away on July 5, 2024, at Hospice Halifax. She was born in St. John, New Brunswick, the daughter of Ronald Myles and Marion Jean (Stephenson) Saunders.
Margo graduated from Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing class of 1960 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dalhousie University in 1977. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting and gardening and loved a good game of bridge. In her teens Margo was an accomplished swimmer and member of the Girl Guides of Canada receiving the Lady Baden-Powell Award, the highest award a Guide can earn.
Margo is survived by her son Thomas (Tom) and Leslie (MacPhail) Lee, and her daughter, Virginia (Lee) and Bill Rowe. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Allie, Will, and Tori Rowe, Tyler, Samantha, Cameron, Sierra, and Julia Lee and Niece Nichola Batzel.
Margo was predeceased by her daughter, Robin Ann Lee, her husband, Robert Hemming, her brother, Nicholas Saunders, and her parents.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 11AM at St. John Evangelist Anglican Church, 954 Old Sackville Road, Rev. Nichola Cumine officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will be at a later date in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Halifax, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
