Terence Bay, NS - Age 81, passed away in hospital on June 9, 2024. For full obituary, please visit www.tjtracey.com It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Wallace “Wally” Gilford Slaunwhite on June 9, 2024 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. He was 81 years of age. Wally (Dad) was born and raised, and lived his entire life in the picturesque village of Terence Bay, NS. Along with his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Beverley (Little), they were blessed with, and raised three children, daughter Cindy, and sons Derrick & Sheldon. Wally (Dad) worked in the Construction Industry most of his life, except in the latter years when he worked as a truck driver. He had an extreme passion for hunting and fishing which he shared with family and friends, including his wife Beverley. He had a tremendous love for Beverley, and they were the happiest they could be whenever they were together. They continuously told each other how much they loved one another, right to the very end. “Rest in peace Wally (Dad) we love you forever”. Wally is survived by the love of his life, his wife Beverley, daughter Cindy (Ola) Legere, son Sheldon (Ann) Slaunwhite, daughter in law Bonnie Slaunwhite, 6 Grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Legere, Adam (Amanda) Legere, Natasha (Adam) Oickle, Mathew Slaunwhite, Evan Slaunwhite & Colton Slaunwhite, 4 Great Grandchildren Autumn & Archer Legere, Wesley & Lilia Oickle. Sisters Julia Slaunwhite, Glenna (Billy) Nicholson, Brothers, Wilbert (Joyce) Slaunwhite, Granville (Donna) Slaunwhite, Sister in Law Vera (Donnie) Mitchell, Brother in Law Kenneth Cole, Sister in Law Shirley Slaunwhite, several Nieces & Nephews, He was predeceased by Son Derrick Wesley Slaunwhite, Parents Ethel & Wesley Slaunwhite, Sister Veronica Cole, Brothers Harris, Wesley (Midge) & Harvey. We would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses & Support Staff who have cared for Wally (Dad) this past year from the Halifax Infirmary (8th Floor), VG (9B), The Admiral Long Term Care Centre & the Dartmouth General Hospital. A very special thank you to Cindy Slaunwhite of Terence Bay for all the care and compassion that she provided to our family the past couple years, thank you so very much Cindy! As per Wally’s (Dad’s) wishes, there will be no Funeral Service or Visitation. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
