Obituary of Jean Margaret Euloth

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Euloth, Jean Margaret (MacLean) aged 96, Passed away peacefully on Friday, 10 May 2024 in the Halifax Infirmary, surrounded by family. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Murphy) MacLean. She was a long time resident of the Bedford community and a member of St.Ignatius parish. Jean is survived by her devoted son Gregory, sister Muriel (Ron) Dunn and many loving nieces and nephews. In her younger years, Jean took a course in Secretarial Studies and worked for S.P. Zive and Sons Fine Furniture as their Secretary until they closed their business. Following that, she was employed by several businesses in the Halifax area until she decided it was time to let the younger generation of Secretaries assume the responsibilities that came with being an executive secretary. Long before she retired and continuing after retirement, Jean was known for her culinary skills and was constantly hounded by her nieces and nephews for her pickling recipes. These she graciously handed over and they were usually accompanied by a sealer of the item in the recipe. Jean enjoyed travelling and visits with her sisters and brothers. It was a very special treat for her and Larry to venture off to brother Jim's in Toronto or to spend time with sister Pauline in Montreal, Kaye in Inverness, Cape Breton or Muriel wherever her sailor husband happened to be posted. But it was the time that the family spent at their cottage in New Ross that held a special place for her. She had lived in New Ross in her younger years and had many friends there that she would visit. Jean was predeceased by her husband Larry, sisters Kaye (John A) Campbell, Pauline (Bill) Byron, Stella (Jack) Beck and her brothers Jim (Eleanor) and Douglas. Visitation will take place May 30, 2024, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in Saint Ignatius Catholic Church, 1288 Bedford Highway, Bedford. A funeral mass will take place May 31st, 2024, at 10:00am in Saint Ignatius Catholic Church, 1288 Bedford Highway, Bedford with a reception to follow. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to The Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia or the Charity of your choice.
