Obituary of Frederick Oxner

Frederick Palmer Oxner, 92, of Timberlea passed away May 1, 2024 at home. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was the son of Palmer and Edna (Merrick) Oxner. Fred began working for his father, Palmer, as a young man, in the building supplies business, then started a long career with Allstate Insurance until his retirement. He enjoyed music, painting, sharing stories, golf, and Friday lunches with his buddies. He had a love for Woodworking, making wonderful creations for his friends and family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with grandson Jared. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Fred is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Doug) Brown, Pictou; sons, Brad (Colleen Fitzgerald) Timberlea, Mark (Craig Larson) Montreal; grandchild, Jared Oxner, Timberlea; niece, Ellen Mclaughlin; and nephew, Merrick Redden. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara (Rockwell) of over 64 years, and sister, Glenda Redden. A Masonic service will be held Thursday 16 May 2024 at 1:15pm in Trinity United Church, 67 Trinity Way, Timberlea. A Funeral service will be held Thursday 16 May 2024 at 2:00pm in Trinity United Church, 67 Trinity Way, Timberlea with Rev. Kevin Little officiating. Reception to follow.
