Anthony “Bea” MacNeil, 76
Glace Bay, N.S.
Anthony "Bea" MacNeil 76 of Glace Bay passed away on April 15, 2024, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John R. and Mary (MacIntosh) MacNeil.
Bea was a letter carrier for Canada Post for 25 years. Throughout his life, he was a hard worker, radiating kindness, compassion, and generosity to all who knew him.
He was a loyal, honest, compassionate man who was so proud of his beautiful family. Although Poppy Bea may be physically gone, the memories of his passion for horse racing, card games, love of nature, racing the car up Kelly's Mountain and displays of endless love, will forever remain etched in the hearts of his family and his adored grandchildren, Gracie and Luke.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara (McNeil) of 52 years, son Kirk (Becky), daughter Bernice (Ted), brothers Danny (Colleen), David (Linda), Vince (Susan), Gerard (Nina), sister Cynthia (Blair), grandchildren Gracie and Luke and many nieces and nephews.
Bea was predeceased by brother John A. (Pat) MacNeil and sister Kaye Corbett.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 10-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Cape Breton.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses, doctors, and staff on the third floor IMCU, ICU, fourth floor Palliative Care and Hospice, for their kindness and compassion to dad.
Also, to all those who played a part in shaping the wonderful man Bea was.
