My condolences to Julie’s family and friends. I looked forward to our conversations about cooking, family, and travel. I found Julie to be funny, kind, and determined - even in the face of challenges she looked for ways through, never giving in to struggle. I will truly miss seeing her in my office.

It is with a tear on my eye that I send my condolences to the family and friends of Julie. I came to know her as she came often to Alderney Landing and I would serve her at Noggins Market. She was always kind, and we often had a little chat about current events or what we might have for dinner. It was obvious she loved to cook. As we got to know each other better we discovered we both ahd lived in the North. Before long we discovered we had friends in common and a few times were invited to te same gathering. Only a short time before she passed we ran into each other at Alderney Landing and she insisted we sit together for a visit, I was so happy to see her doing so well and as usual we had lots to chat about. I will miss those spontaneous, delightful visits. Anna Fraser, Dartmouth (pic, friends picnic at Sullivan's Pond)

Laura,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Julie was a lovely lovely person, interested in everything and everyone. She was so proud of you and so in love with your boys. The last time I saw her was our last symphony outing together. She was so happy that night, listening to the music of Gordon Lightfoot, her ‘favourite symphony concert ever’. I will miss our evenings together. My condolences to you and your family.

I am so very saddened that the world has lost Julie. She approached life with great enthusiasm and positivity. She was genuinely interested in everyone she met. I will miss her smile and her laugh. Most especially I will miss the stories of her grandsons whom she loved so dearly. Thinking of Laura, and all of the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Julie in Rankin Inlet for many years. When I moved to Rankin, Julie was expecting her daughter Laura and was so passionate to become a mother. Julie and I shared memories of growing up in Nova Scotia, best teaching practices and the joy of motherhood. I had the honour to teach her daughter Laura in grade one. Julie was passionate in all that was dear to her, yet displayed a comical side when least expected. Those who knew Julie were very lucky indeed!

From our first meeting in "Just Us" in the Anchorage, where we both lived, Julie was such a welcome friend during our time in Nova Scotia. Always bright and chatty, generous and caring.
I recall meeting Julie and Laura in London and loved how excited they were on their Queen Mary adventure!
David and I remember her with great fondness. We are so sorry to hear of her passing and send much love to Laura, all the family and her many friends.
