Anne Ellsworth – Dubois Dartmouth/Dominion, NS We the family of Anne Ellsworth Dubois announce her peaceful passing, on March 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Anne was born in Montreal, Quebec on January 26, 1963, and was the daughter of the late George and Beryl Ellsworth of Dominion, NS. Anne was an incredibly talented artist, whether it be sketching, drawing, painting, or digital artwork, she also had a deep love and appreciation for music. Anne had a fondness for all things that sparkle, glitter, and shine, reflecting her vibrant personality. Her love for shiny objects was a defining trait that brought a bright energy to any room she entered. People were drawn to her enthusiastic admiration for all that glistened, which made her presence unforgettable. With her charismatic charm and appreciation for shimmering beauty, she added a touch of sparkle to everyone's day. Anne had a wonderful sense of humour and a contagious laugh; she had a unique way of embracing people which made them feel safe and loved. Her hugs were warm and comforting, and in her arms, all our worries seemed to fade away. She was known for her ability to find the positive qualities in people, and Anne consistently looked for the good in everyone she met. Her optimistic outlook on life inspired those around her to see things in a more positive light. Growing up in Labrador City, Labrador, Anne loved playing hockey with her brothers as well as other outdoor winter activities. She grew up a Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan because of the love she had for her favourite players Darryl Sittler and Mike Palmateer, and she shared a special bond of the game with her children and grandchildren. Anne is survived by her husband David Dubois, son Jonathan Martell (Sharla), daughter Heather Martell; brothers John Ellsworth (Nancy), Jason Ellsworth, Jim Ellsworth (Laura); sisters Ruth Ellsworth, Debbie Sebastian (Reggie); brothers-in-law Gerry Dubois (Edwina), Matthew Dubois and sister-in-law Valerie Dubois; Anne is also survived by her five beautiful grandchildren Lucas, Madisyn, Danielle, Noah, and Isaiah. Anne had a special place in her heart for Noah and Isaiah’s father Ryan Penney, as well as her lifelong friend Shelley Fletcher (Kevin) and the late Lorne Trevors (Leander). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Anne is predeceased by her late husband, Danny Martell; mother and father-in-law Bernie and Dorothy Dubois, as well as a brother in infancy (Georgie). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 11-1 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1 p.m. in T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St, Glace Bay, 902-849-4199. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA, for Anne had a true love of all animals. A special thank you to the Martell family for their continued support to Jonathan, Heather, and their families throughout this tough time. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses in Dartmouth General Hospital for the kindness and compassion shown to Anne during her time there. “Express yourself, whether it be with art, music or dance, that is where our souls are truly free!” Words of comfort may be expressed to Anne’s family by visiting www.tjtracey.com.
