William Ridgley, 80

We the family of William Ridgley, are deeply sorry to announce his passing on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in Strait Richmond Hospital. Born in Halifax, Bill was the son of the late Margaret and William Ridgley.
Bill was a member of the Bonnie Brae Seniors Club, he worked as an auto technician for 35 years in Ontario and retired back to Nova Scotia, he then started his own business as a Mac Tools Distributor.
Bill loved gatherings, playing his guitar with friends, but his true passion was sailing his boat The Mariah.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 45 years; a stepbrother Brent Boucher; stepsisters Helen and Cindy Boucher; nephew Shawn (Becky) Boucher who were always there for us, and several real nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by his stepfather Leonard Boucher, sister Catherine Paris, and stepson Michael Drake.
Service Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199.
As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital, Cancer Society, or of one’s choice.
Special thank you to Strait Richmond Hospital, Palliative Care Coordinator Leslie Lerue, Dr.’s and nursing staff and all others who work on the unit. A special thank you to Whitney and Gloria Boudreau, and John Sack (MacPhee) who drove me to and from the hospital, I deeply appreciated it.
