Glenn “Gee” Sudworth, 66
Glace Bay, N.S.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Glenn "Gee" Sudworth, age 66, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wolfville, Glenn was the son of the late William and Frances (Ford) Sudworth.
Glenn will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Laura Lea, his children; Erica (Lauchie)Headley, Erin (Joe), Elysia, and Glenn; grandchildren Alex, Laura, and Lesley. Gee is also survived by sister Helen Ruth, brothers Donald (Karen), Todd (Cheryl), and sister-in-law Helen, and many nieces and nephews.
Upon his passing Glenn was reunited with his parents William and Frances, brother Billy, sister Alice "Sissy", parents in law Teddy and Bertha Saccary.
Employed in his earlier years at Highland Fisheries, Gee was a millwright by trade and a golf professional by heart. Gee always knew how to win; be the guy carrying the scorecard. While Gee could be seen carrying his golf bag 18 holes, he most certainly could not carry a tune the same distance but that did not stop him from entertaining you with a private concert.
Known for his quick wit, he was a master at sarcastic humor and witty timing. To his family, he was as fearless as he was funny. His priority was always his family despite the many health challenges he faced himself. He was a man of strong character, who taught by example. He taught us all how to persevere and to not back down from adversity.
Being loved by him was a gift. He adored Laura Lea; the love of his life and best friend, he was obsessed with his grandchildren, he built an irreplaceable bond with his son in law and his children were his treasures. If he was excited abut something he wanted to tell you about it, and he wanted you to be excited too and if you were struggling and needed to talk, he listened with tenderness and intention and spoke truth in the simplest most grounding of ways.
Thank you to Dr. Tom Hewlett, "the girls", staff of Sydney and Glace Bay Renal Units for their dedication in Glenn's care, as well as the ICU staff in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
A man of integrity, a beacon of love for his family, his legacy will continue to inspire, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
