Michael Joseph Reid, 76
Glace Bay, N.S.
We, the family of Michael Joseph Reid, 76, are saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the QE2 Hospital, Halifax. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Mary (Aucoin) and Francis Reid.
Known to many as "Wild Bill", he worked for 40 years as a laborer for Municipal Ready Mix, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed tinkering with junked cars and car parts. As part of his side hustle, he was known to collect anything he could and turn into a quick buck.
Mike is survived by his wife of 57 years, Deborah, daughter Alice (Phil) Ross, Marion Bridge, son Michael, Fort McMurray; grandchildren Tyler (Dawn), Parker and Michael; great grandchildren Sammy and Emmett; brother Vernon (Linda), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Mike was predeceased by brothers John and Tommy and sisters Vangie and Leona.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date.
