Born in Halifax May 14, 1947, Robert Darrell Currie passed away peacefully after a brief illness January
26, 2024, Son of Raymond Douglas and Mary Catherine Currie.
A devoted father and grandfather, Robert loved sharing stories, eager to offer words of wisdom and
enthusiasm to all. He was also available for his friends and family to help with any challenges they
faced. He was a handyman and carpenter keen to volunteer his time and creative skills on projects large

humour in most situations and as one niece reminisced, “all children should have the good fortune of having a person like Robert in their lives”.

Anne Coyle; sisters: Maureen Shapter (Robert Shapter), Reynalda Boyd (Tim Boyd), Adele Currie, Andrea
(Gerald Power) Trask, Elizabeth Currie (Robert Grant); Grandchildren: James Douglas Currie, Natalie
Cecilia Coyle, Christopher James Coyle and William Andrew Coyle, Colby James Walker, Robin Elizabeth
Currie, Mackenzie Michael Walker, Lily Currie. Great Grand child: Presley Andrea Coyle; and many nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his many friends, special thanks to close friends Charles Brown, Karen Livingston and
Elizabeth Hopkins for their unwavering support over the past several months.
Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Catherine Currie: brothers Douglas and Joseph; sisters:
Camille (Currie) Murphy and Lenore Currie.
