Obituary of Charles Oliver Colp

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Oliver Colp. Charles passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in his 90th year. Charles was born July 23, 1934, to the late May (Christian) and Cash Cannon Colp. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen. Father to Stephen (Patricia) Colp, Darrin (Tracey) Colp, Rosemarie (Robert) Peters and predeceased by his son, Cash Carmen Leslie Colp. Ever remembered by his four grandchildren, Crystal Colp, Fernando (Nicole) Colp, Madisen (Dave) McKinnon, and Grace Colp; and three great grandchildren, Kyle Colp, Ivy and River Colp. Survived by his brother Nicholas (Lydia) Colp, predeceased by brother, Vernon, Clarence, Kenneth. Charles was born in Halifax and attended school at Shad Bay Memorial. He enlisted in the Navy when he was 18 years old and three years later left for a career at Oland Brewery, where he worked for 39 years, retiring in 1993. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Shad Bay, Reception to follow.
