Frank, Robert Aubrey (Bob), Dartmouth - We are heartbroken to announce that Bob passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia, surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday January 22, 2024, at The Dartmouth General Hospital. Born on July 25th, 1941, to the late Basil and Eva (Comeau)Frank, Bob grew up in Dartmouth N.S. From a young age Bob had an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a plumber by trade at the age of 19. Bob would take on his next venture acquiring BlueBell Taxi. Bob always had a passion for the car business, he loved to buy and sell cars. Bob would later sell Bluebell Taxi and transition his love of the car business founding Cars R US, building one of the largest used car dealerships in Atlantic Canada. After a few extraordinary decades he sold his interest in the dealership to focus on a well-deserved retirement. Along with some friends he started the TCA Bingo Hall, and this is where he met the love of his life, Carol. No stranger to adventure, Bob would acquire his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying to fly-ins throughout the Maritimes provinces in his Piper Arrow plane with Carol always by his side co-piloting. An outdoors guy, he loved golfing and boating, a passion he shared with his son- in- law Shane, who was always there for Bob whenever he needed anything. Bob loved music, he and Carol were members of The Olde Colony Club in Dartmouth, where they spent many Saturday nights dancing and enjoying time with friends. Some of Bobs happiest times were when he was travelling through Canada and the US listening proudly to his daughter Trina and then granddaughter Molly sing. Trina singing ‘I Will Always Love You’ to him, always brought tears to his eyes. Bob and Carol were fortunate enough to spend their winters in Florida making many wonderful friends and memories over the years. Bob was a great man, friend, husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. We will miss him dearly, but we find some peace in knowing that he is in Heaven with all of his loved ones who have gone before him. Bob is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Rosalee (Reg deceased) Carroll, Yarmouth, Melanie (Chris) Frank, Toronto, Trina (Shane) Kirk, Waverley. Brother Lloyd, British Columbia.
