I am home from away for the Dartmouth HighSchool Reunion and I was hoping to see Yogi. I was devestated to hear of his passing.I grew up in Wallis Heights and knew Yogi well. I had a mad crush on Yogi - he was such a sweet guy. I have fond memories of hanging out going to the drive-in with a car load of us. My deepest condolences to his family.

It is with sadness that I hear of Ron’s passing. I knew him back in the 1980’s when I worked at the IWK in the lab, Ron was X-ray. We played softball together and may rounds of hill in the wolfville. We also shared an apartment with another coworker from the IWK for awhile. Ron loved his golf; he was quiet but had a great smile; he had deep religious faith as well. Rest easy now Ron

Like many other tributes the one common comments about Ron was his warm and gentle smile. I was fortunate to meet Ron at the Grandview Golf Course where he was a member for many years. Always the quiet one! His constant pal Ritchie made up for him..
Ron & Karen visited with Sandra and I one Sunday to try a bit of stripped bass fishing on Grand Lake. I no more than left the shore and was putting the downrigger down as it was a warm July day and the fish were down 15 to 20 feet, and we hooked a fish. Ron excitedly reeled it in and when it got up to the boat I quickly released to 5 pounder as it was too small to keep. Ron was quick to tell me it was the biggest fish he had ever caught and could not believe I had let it go. As fishing goes, that was our only catch that day. Supper and a few beer eased the pain.
Ron was part of my group on Aug 16,2003 along with Larry Flemming and Greg Hodgson when I got my first hole in one. He was more excited than I was.
Yogi you will be long remembered at future Riff Raff events where your golfing pals will relive stories of our many adventures together.
RIP

I was actually quite shocked to find out he had the name Ronald. Until I was 16 years old I truly believed his name was was uncle yogi. Lol. He loved my sister and I like we were his own. Always embraced us with a loving hug and smile when we met. Never once since I can remember missed the chance to wish me a happy birthday. He was a kind, gentle, man of few words, but when he spoke he always had a funny joke and great laugh and smile that would light up the room. Whenever he would come visit, the love that permeated out of him for my mom( his sister) was undeniable. They would reminisce about earlier years, and you could always feel their loving bond. You always felt he was her protector, and she would always be his little sister. I admire how he would Always put others before himself . I feel so blessed to been fortunate to talk with him before he left, and the chance to tell him how much we loved him. He simply loved life, and when you met him you could tell. He was truly blessed to have found the love of his life, his soulmate Karen who was always by his side. He will be in all our thoughts and prayers, golfing, building models airplanes and fishing with his younger brother Robert. Thanks for all the amazing memories uncle yogi. You will be missed. Much love.

I am so sad to hear the news of Ronnie’s death. I learned so much from him while working together in interventional especially neuro angio and cardiac. He was kind, caring, and supportive - he would often share his clementines. He was a true gentleman who gave the best hugs. Ronnie made everyone feel like family.
