It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Andrecyk on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in the New Waterford Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Ellen (Finnel) Boutilier.
Marion’s greatest accomplishments in life were her family, her grandchildren meant everything to her.
Marion is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ronald Andrecyk; son Ronnie Andrecyk; daughter, Lisa Gilmet (Gerard); daughter-in-law, Colleen Andrecyk; four wonderful grandchildren, Brandon and Kelsey Gilmet, Noah, and Nathan Andrecyk. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Ramsdale and Colleen (Wayne) MacLean; sisters-in-law, Joan (Terry) MacKinnon, Linda McNeil, and Sheila (Fred) Tobin; brother-in-law, Ray Currie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Marion was predeceased by her sister, Helen MacIntosh; in-laws, Eli, and Nellie Andrecyk; sister-in-law, Judy Currie; brothers-in-law, Jack Ramsdale, Robert Andrecyk and John MacIntosh.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3,2024 from 12- 2 p.m. and a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding all taking place in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The family would like to thank Patricia White who took exceptional care of our mom, the Doctors and nursing staff on the 2nd Floor of the New Waterford Hospital, especially Dr. Stephanie and mom’s guardian angel ‘Joey Doyle’ as well as Dr. David Ley, Ann, and Lynn.
