William Joseph Butler, 81 of Halifax, NS passed away December 19, 2023 at the QEII – Victoria General Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS he was the son of Ralph St Clair Butler and Mary Agnes Fobin.
Bill worked at Farmers Dairy for 3 to 4 years and Metro Transit for 28 years. He loved music, loved to do puzzles and he played in a band for a couple of years. Bill loved to swim.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie Butler (Lerue); sons, Steven Butler and Kevin Butler (Katherine); brothers, Ronnie, Jim, Kenny (Heather), Ralph, Mike; sisters, Maxine (Leo Slade), Nancy and Anne.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph St Clair Butler and Mary Agnes Fobin; brother, John; and sister Mary.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday December 22, 2023 at 11:00am in Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 6476 Bayers Road, Halifax, NS B3L 2B1 with Fr. Nathaneal DesRoches officiating. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 33 Old Sackville Road, Lower Sackville, NS B4C 2J5.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
