Cecilia was born in Glace Bay on March 26, 1942, to the late William and Margaret Martin. She was one of 13 children.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Murray Lynk, her sisters Rita, Mel, Mary, Kay and Eileen and brothers, Harry, Ronnie, Leo, Fabian, and Bob.
She will be missed dearly by everyone who loved her, her son Stephen Lynk (Denise Strong), daughters Nancy Lynk, and Sheri Lynk (Michael Leblanc). Her grandchildren; Kelly (Richard) Dean, Craig (Erin) Lynk, Stephanie Lynk, Michael (Ellen) Lynk, Candace (Malcolm) MacLeod and Jenna (Jonathan) McKinnon. Also left to mourn are her brothers; Bill (Kathy) Martin, Paul (Liz) Martin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was a wife, mother, nanny, sister, friend, and comedian to everyone who knew and loved her. Nanny found the good in everyone she met. She was a kind soul who had very strong faith. She was happiest when able to cook a beautiful meal for anyone who was sitting around her supper table, enjoyed a good game of bingo with her friends. What she loved the most was gathering with her family. She loved to joke and was always up for a good laugh.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff and doctors of Glace Bay hospital south/west for their care to Mom, as well as the staff of ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassion during her stay. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Jean and Frank Ryan for your support during Cecilia’s stay in Halifax.
