It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Ann Ryan(Graves) of Terence Bay announces her sudden passing on November 6th, 2023 at the age of 80 at Windsor Elms Nursing Home.
Sharon was born in Halifax to the late Susie Recker and Walter Graves. She moved to Terence Bay to raise her family and was an active community member. For most of her life, Sharon worked as a hairdresser and could also be found working in food service at Exhibition Park. Sharon attended Star of the Sea Church, where she was a choir member and served on the Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, nan, aunt, and friend.
The most important thing for Sharon was spending time with her family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and always made it her priority to be available whenever her family needed her. She was a caregiver to all and will be deeply missed.
Sharon is survived by her husband, James (Sam) of 56 years; children, Wally (Marcia) Ryan, and Michelle (Barry) Browne; brother, Blaine (Corinna) Recker; sister, Cheryl MacDonald; grandchildren, Hunter, Haylee, Raine, Aaris, Julie, and Ronan; niece, Melissa; and nephews, Cody, Mackenzie, and Anderson.
Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 3709 Prospect Road, Shad Bay, on Monday, November 13th at 11:00 am - with a reception to follow at The Terence Bay Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Star of The Sea Cemetery Fund. A special thank you to all the staff at the Windsor Elms nursing home, Meadowview Landing 2, for all their loving care over the past 7 months.
