Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Susan Grandy, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 at home on October 30th, 2023, surrounded by her friends and family. If you are reading this, I am not alone. I’ve gone home to be with my mom and dad, my brothers Lloyd, Eugene, Billy, Jack, and Tom, my sisters Cecilia, and Marion, and my nephew Joseph. Life has been quite a journey! I worked for Sobey’s for many years where I made lifelong friends, and to my family at Logistics, my most recent job, thank you for your support. I played a lot of softball in my younger adult years, and while I was rarely on the best team, me and my teammates made sure we had the most fun and made the best memories. I have always loved animals, especially my fur babies Piston, Almond, and Brie. They love nature as much as I do. One of my favourite spots is to sit by the ocean admiring all the beauty it has to offer. I always looked forward to seeing my flowers bloom every year and watching my apple tree and rhododendron come to life. I always looked forward to the annual cottage trip with the girls in Mount Uniacke. I could never win that big lotto, but I always knew I was rich in friends. Countless memories were made, that I will always treasure. And girls know this, I may not be standing next to you, but Trish and I will be with you in spirit. Most of all thank you, to the love of my life, my daughter Beth. I couldn’t be prouder of her and my grandchildren, Dyrel and Deja. Dyrel, with your intelligence, and Deja with your creativity, continue pushing to be the best you can be. I will always be watching over you both. My sister Georgina has always been my rock, and my brother Paul has always been there when I needed him. I really did love the deck, Paul! My wish for you both now is to stay together and continue to love and support one another. You are both stronger than you know. Don’t be sad while I am gone. Love, laugh, and smile on your journey as I loved doing myself. Love always, Susie All are welcome to attend the funeral service which will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Brunswick Street, on Thursday, November 9th at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at Jenny’s Place on Lady Hammond Road. “The ocean stirs the heart, inspires imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul.”
