JOHNSON, David Wayne – Halifax, 69
The family of David Wayne Johnson are saddened to announce his unexpected passing at home on 24 October 2023. Born in Halifax on June 19, 1954, he was the eldest son of the late, Norman and Beulah (Silver) Johnson.
He graduated from J.L. Ilsley High School in 1972.
Dave was a machinist and engraver in the Halifax Dockyard for his professional working career.
Dave’s hobbies included coin collecting, reading, particularly about war history and photography. He was also a film enthusiast and an animal lover. He’ll be missed by cats Georgie and Harley.
Sorely missed by his family, Dave is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law; Steve, Ken and Judi Bell, Doug and Jayne, and Darrell and Cathy; nephews and nieces Michael (Deirdre Laundry), Taylor (Daniel) Prest, Michelle, Nick (Kelsey Stewart) and Samantha; great nephews, Hudson and Brooks Johnson; his aunt, Ilene Farrell; and many cousins.
Cremation has taken place under the care of T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax. In accordance with Dave’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A family graveside service will take place at the Bayview Cemetery, in Goldsboro, NS at a later date.
