Wendy and Family,
I apologize for posting this late but his death affected me much more than I thought it would. Jim was a GOOD MAN but you already know that and we were friends long before we became neighbours. How, well I ran a Senior Men's Softball League and Jim controlled the permits for the ballfields in Halifax. That was our introduction and the relationship began. He was stalwart in his representation for the city and an honourable man to deal with to the point of helping us with exhibition games against members of the Montreal Canadians and Toronto Maple Leafs courtesy of our sponsor, Moosehead Brewery.
As the years went by and I left softball, he moved to Douglas Ave/Crescent and we conversed often but admittedly, I was mostly the listener (lol). Our conversations always centered on positive things even as he and you Wendy became ill.
Let me end it there by saying he will always occupy a space in my heart as a man who genuinely cared about helping others and doing the right thing.......a rarity in todays world.
God Bless

I’m so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I got to know him well through his involvement in soccer - he was so good to the kids he coached, two of them being my sons. Even beyond that connection he was always one to stop you to ask how you were and to catch up on time that had gone by. Very sincere and genuine person.
Please accept my sincerest condolences.

My condolences to the Naugler Family of the loss of Jim. I first met Jim when he was working for the Halifax Recreation Department in the 1970s. I was a young teen participating in the recreation programs in Spryfield. I will never forgot our floor hockey game at B.C. Silver Junior High when Jim arranged for a recreation staff vs teens to play against each other. We were over confident we teens would win easily against these "old" recreation staff members. It didn't go the way we planned but was a great lesson in humility for all the teens who played. When I joined the Halifax Police Department later to become the HRM Police I sat in inter-department meetings with Jim and often ran into him over the years. He had a positive influence of me and many young teens in his lifetime. He was well respected by everyone and he had a great sense of humour. He will be missed by so many. May he Rest in peace.

To Wendy and family. It has many years since I spoke to Jim but i have fond memories our track and field days from the late 60’s and early 70’s. We competed against each other many times in high school and university in the 800 from the antigonish highland games to the Canadian track and filed championships in Winnipeg - we were friends and colleagues on the NS track team in 1969 - the first Canada summer Games. He was a great competitor and a fun guy to be around. My condolences to all the family on your loss- he clearly had full and productive life and will be missed by many friends and family.
