I was saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend, Ray. He was a long time member of the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax and enjoyed to dance in his younger days with our dance troop. I will always remember his smile and joyful attitude. He will surely be missed.
As current President of, and on behalf of the CBCAoH as well as my family, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to Ray's family.

Sorry to hear of Ray's passing. In our younger years I would see him at possibly a dance but always when a Fiddler was in town. He surely was a funny guy always with plenty of stories. He will be greatly missed.

Our hearts go out to you all. I worked with Ray at Veterans Affairs and will always remember him for his humour. We all had great laughs with Ray. It was my first job as a young 19 year old and will always be thankful for Ray’s way of making me feel welcome and for his guidance. Love to you all, Edie, John Bernard and family

I am in complete shock of the loss of this funny , loving soul .
I just knew him only a year , but it felt as if I knew him a lifetime , he had that kind of effect on you .
He is a customer who turned into my friend . I looked forward to seeing him every time . Soon as I’d see him we’d smile at one another and when he walked in the door I’d always say, look !!! Theirs my sweet cheeks or oh here we go here comes trouble.
We’d have chats , I’d always ask him what he had plans to do that day , / weekend just incase i wouldn’t see him I’d know he was ok ..
To his family and other friends I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss .
He left a piece of him behind in this world , his children and grandchildren . Ray will live on forever.
Thank you for being a great friend , will miss you XO

So sad to hear of Ray's passing. I knew him quite well having grown up in Parkdale only 2 streets over from where he lived. We would always chat about things and the first thing he would always ask was how my Mom was doing. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the family as he will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.

My deepest condolences Nadine to you and your family for you loss. I have fond memories of your dad, visiting me a my house and barbershop and school. He volunteered to be my first client once he heard I was taking barbering and came to my school for a hair cut and each month until I finished then to barbershop I work at. I even got to cut his hair in his chair. Such a dear sweet man. He stopped by at my school and dropped a present when finishing and few times to do same for my kids at Xmas and Halloween. Even got to have a beer or two at karaoke night at Timberlea tavern he invited me out to a couple of times. He will be greatly missed by me and the kids, around community and by many. You and your family will be in mine and my family’s thoughts and prayers. Norm Drake
