So sorry for the late condolences but I didn’t realize until today that Dale had passed after reading about it on the Rugby Canada Website being mentioned at the AGM. I played rugby against Dale back in the 90s and the only thing that matched his class on the field was his class off of it. Dale was truly gifted footballer. I remember playing against him when he grubbed kicked a ball out of bounds in front of his 22 meter line so we didn’t get the ball from where he kicked it. I played a lot of rugby in Canada and a bit in Europe but didn’t see too many people do that. None in fact. But what I probably remember most about Dale was the most genuine of smiles. Dale was Cole Harbour and I was rival Halifax but I was quite pleased to run into him years later in PEI on a trip home from out west. We had a brief friendly chat but what I remember the most was that smile. Just a genuinely great guy, even if he wore blue with red stripes. Sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to the entire Gennette family. I grew up across the road from Dale(and Krista) and have countless memories of when we were kids. Especially in the winter sledding on the hill behind the fourplex between his and Krista’s house.
One story I’ve told several times as an adult was when we were in high school and I made mistake of tell ing Dale my parents were out of town and I had planned to have a party on Saturday. The mistake was that I told him on Tuesday. He spent every lunch hour that week telling everyone he knew I was having a party and what my address was. It was standing room only in my house during that party.

Such sad news.
Dale and I grew up two houses apart and I was just telling my niece the day before his passing about how we would all gather next-door in the backyard of the four Plex between our homes and one of our favourite things to do was play soccer baseball.
I am so sorry for your loss, Mr. and Mrs. Gennette, and to all of Dale’s family.
He was a wonderful guy and we shared a lot of laughs from primary right up to high school.

It is always sad to lose a family member but one so young is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to Susan Mya and Mack and the extended family. Although I really did not know Dale I know Mack really well and it speaks volumes to know he truly loved his Dad and knew he could call on him for advice at anytime. I do know that Dales soul will always be looking out for Mya and Mack and Susan.

Hey Susan and the rest of the family, I just wanted to extend my deepest condolences to all of you. I can't even begin to express how incredible Dale was as a friend and mentor. Seriously, he was one of a kind. The past 8 years have been filled with unforgettable moments, from our heart-to-heart chats to those epic golf games. I can't believe he's gone. Dale will forever be in our hearts and sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

I remember Dale as a respected loyal hardworking colleague in my CPL days and a good competitor later on. We both shared a love for Rugby and that was easy to talk about. I wish the family and all the ones that loved Dale the strength needed to deal with his loss. Hold on to the good stories and memories they can't be taken away. All the best. Jan Eisses

Susan and family, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Words cannot express...
I worked with Dale for years at Groeneveld, and I will always consider Dale a kindred spirit and a friend. He had this uncanny ability to put a smile on your face even when faced the toughest of situations and he was loved for it. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him and I am for sure a better man for having had the privilege of knowing him.

We were shocked and heartbroken at the news.
I had the honor and pleasure of knowing and working with Dale for 20 years. A true man of his word. He coupled this with his great sense of humor and respectful persona.
I will miss his friendship, support and his funny Christmas card texts.
RIP good buddy. You will be missed.
