My wife, Lisa Craig, and I would like to send our deepest condolences to Dr. Atia’s family and his staff and colleagues. He has been our family doctor since he opened his practice in Amherst. We will miss his care, patience, kindness, and sense of humour. Personally, having to visit with him monthly for the past 11 years for B12 shots, I will also miss his friendship.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. John Atia. We, at CanAm Physician Recruiting have had the privilege of being a part of Dr. Atia's journey from Egypt to Canada. From the moment he arrived in Canada to Albany's NL and then to NS, we were struck by his determination and passion for serving others. He was a natural leader and always looking for ways to improve the lives of those around him. His commitment to helping others was evident in his tireless advocacy for improved access to physicians. He genuinely wanted to make a difference and had a knack for connecting with people. Over the years, his dedication to service and friendship never wavered and he always put the needs of others before his own. His compassion and empathy were inspiring and his commitment to making a positive impact on the world was unwavering. From the moment he joined our community, it was clear that he was a force for good and that he would leave a lasting impact on the lives of those he touched.
Our hearts are heavy, and words cannot express the sorrow we feel for his family during this difficult time. We send our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to them. We hope that they can find some comfort in knowing that Dr. Atia has left a lasting impression on so many. His wisdom and generosity will continue to live on in our memories.

Dr. Atia went out of his way to help several members of my family. It did not matter the walk of life you came from, he was there to help. He loved to eat and loved to feed us,I especially loved his treats at Christmas. Cumberland will be different and will miss his kind heart. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

My deepest condolences goes to all my beloved family on the departure of my very dear cousin John.
I thought to share a memory of an unforgettable day I spent with John & Lydia as an engaged couple. They found the time and love to take me as a child to a whole day the park and the zoo. The kindness and love John and Lydia showed me this day fills my heart with joy till this day ! I cherish this memory I had with him and will always remember his bright welcoming smile.
(John is the one behind the camera taking this shot of me and Lydia)
My late father used to love John and all his family. The whole family is known for the rare virtues and unfailing love they are all very rich with. They have always been there for us in all circumstances.
My love and prayers goes to all the family and my very dear tante tante Amal on top.
May God repose his beautiful soul in the paradise of Joy and bless the family with heavenly peace and comfort

Dr Atia will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all of us he touched with his kindness and caring demeanour. When I needed someone to cover for me for a weekend recruitment trip he was the only one who agreed to do so and did it without blinking an eye or pausing to think of the cost to himself. I am so sorry there is not more time. Tena
