Obituary of Timothy Allen Keddy
Please share a memory of Timothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of the one and only Tim Keddy on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the age of 48. He was surrounded by family and beloved friends right until the end. He was a fantastic father and a magnificent husband. To know Tim is to love him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years Kimberly and his four children: Piper, Silas, Jasper and Owen, along with his littlest companion Daisy.
Stepmother Sandra Oxner, brothers Patrick Keddy (Tina),Michael Keddy (Sarah) sister Jane Keddy, Mother in law Angela and sister in law Kristen (Jeremy) as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Tim was the son of the late Donald and Cynthia (Streeter) Keddy.
He was first and foremost a very proud family man who loved his wife Kim and children more than anything. Tim came to know and grow closer to God, in these past few years. Tim loved sailing, the outdoors and was an incredible athlete playing several sports, but his true love was Rugby. He started playing rugby as a teenager while attending Rothesay Collegiate School. Including his high school playing days at RCS, Tim had a long and distinguished rugby career that spanned over 30 years. During this time he played with 3 senior clubs, the Saint John Trojans RFC, UNB Ironmen RFC and finally a very long lasting tenure with Halifax RFC. Off the pitch he also served on the Halifax RFC club executive as President and in other varying roles throughout the years. He was a long time pillar of the organization. At the peak of his playing days, Tim was considered one of the very best backfielders in Maritime Rugby. Also, for many years, he was selected to the Senior Men’s Nova Scotia Keltics Rugby Side where he competed at a Provincial level. He was always team first and was respected on and off the field.
Tim obtained his BBA degree from the University of New Brunswick, in Fredericton. After graduating from UNB in 1997, he made the move to Halifax, NS where he worked for the family business, Keddy’s Motor Inns. In 2000 he attended the Information Technology Institute (ITI) in Halifax where he graduated with a diploma in Applied Information Technology. He went on to work in the IT field, as an Application Developer, in London, England for 2 years. In 2003 Tim moved back to Halifax where he would restart his career in the Property Management business, this was the industry closest to his heart, and he would remain in this field for the rest of his career. This move home would also allow Tim to meet the love of his life, Kim, and begin growing their family.
Tim was his children’s biggest supporter, always doing what was best for them, no matter the sacrifice. He is so deeply and fully loved by them and his lessons will continue to guide them as they move through the world without him.
The void his life has left can never be filled, but to honour his legacy, together we will bravely forge a new life that Tim would be proud of.
God bless.
