Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
O'Rourke, Joyce Bernadette, Age 81. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce on September 12, 2023, in the QEII Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late William and Alvina Perrier.
What a free spirit, just like an eagle, she loved to soar on high. At one time Joyce became involved with the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Party. In 1992 Joyce joined the PC Women’s Group and was honoured with the Macdonald-Cartier award in recognition for her volunteer services. In the early 90's she served on the Nova Scotia Film Board and became involved with the Nova Scotia Status of Women. Joyce was involved in a two-year study program for disabled women centering on the need to have them in the work force and was proud to chair a 12-request program for change in the Nova Scotia Government, that is still in place to this day. Joyce was a lover of crafts and Craft Shows and was a dedicated dollar store shopper.
