Joseph Lawrence “Joe” Duggan – Prospect, NS
It is with profound sadness that the family of Joseph Lawrence (Joe) Duggan of Prospect, Nova Scotia announces his passing on September 2nd, 2023 at age 77 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Born in January 1946, in Halifax, NS he was the son of Richard and Frances Duggan (Hardiman).
Joe worked at Sears for over 21 years, however Lobster fishing was always his passion and his heart lead him back to fishing after retirement alongside his dear Val by his side fishing together until he finally retired at the age of 75 years.
Joe is survived by his wife of 47 years Val Corine Duggan (Singer); sons, Joe, Greg and Darren; brother, Michael (Fran) Duggan; sister, Jean Hardiman (and late Gerald)
Joe is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Edward (Lorraine), Ron (Joan) and Richard (Anita).
Joe was very close to the Singer family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Joe’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey, Halifax. Please gather with us in prayer, with Rev Deacon Bernie Young officiating, for the interment of ashes at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Prospect, at 11am on September 9th, 2023.
Joe was deeply loved by all of those around him and will be sorely missed.
