Obituary of Lucy Victoria Rhyno

RHYNO, Lucy Victoria, 90 of Halifax died peacefully at Melville Gardens, Halifax on August 29, 2023. Lucy was born in Port Mouton, Nova Scotia and was raised in Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia. Lucy was the daughter of the late Ruben and Ruby (Boutilier) Colp and lived most of her life in Halifax. Mom was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mom enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling, as well as sewing and reading. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years Aubrey. Mom is survived by sons, Burton (Jocelyn), David (Colleen); daughters, Ann Borden (Kevin), Gail Gibb (Doug, deceased), 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her siblings, Gordon, Cora, Ruth, and Burton. Mom was a caring and loving person with a warm and friendly smile which she was only too happy to share. She was always the hostess offering up tea/coffee and something sweet to all who visited. Many thanks to all the wonderful people who helped care for Mom over the years, especially the Staff at Melville Gardens. At Mom’s request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place under the care of T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax, and a Family Burial will follow at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
