Dunville, Stanley Raymond “Ray”, age, 76, of Halifax, NS, passed away on August 29, 2023 in Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, NS. Born in West Point, P.E.I, he was the son of Thomas and Miriam Dumville.
Ray is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret Dunville; sons, Joshua Dunville, Jonathan Dunville (Hannah), Nathan Dunville; daughters, Evie Dunville, Dawn Mackay (George); brothers, Garnet Dumville (Debbie), Edward Dumville (Lorna), Gordon Dumville (Barb), Elmer Dumville; sister, Shirley Barron (Doug); grandchildren, Liam Dunville, Elena Dunville, Stephanie MacKay .
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Dumville and Miriam Dumville; siblings, Lorne Dumville, Everett Dumville,and Olive MacDougald; and sister-in-law, Hazel Dumville.
Ray was a skilled tradesman and enjoyed woodworking with Landing Crafts in his retirement, he achieved many awards in over 25 years of service with Midland Transport, some of which include, Owner/Operator of the Month, October 1985; Driver of the Year, 2002, and one he was very proud of, he was recognized for more than 3 million miles accident free.
Ray, a devoted husband,father, grandfather and friend will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 4, 2023, at 10:00am in Full Gospel Church, 2256 Larry Uteck Blvd, Bedford, NS, B4B 1E3, with Rev. Russell Knowles officiating. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the SPCA or the V.G. Palliative Care Unit, Halifax.
