Sheila Darlene White
Glace Bay/Cambridge, N.S.
We, the family, are heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother, daughter and sister, Sheila Darlene White. Sheila passed away on August 10, 2023, at Valley Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family and special friend, Tony.
Sheila (little Sheila) was born November 3, 1963, in Glace Bay Hospital. She was the daughter of Sheilah & (the late) Cyril White.
Sheila graduated from Morrison Glace Bay High School in 1981, then attended Sydney Business College. After her graduation, she worked in various positions within the health care system for 25 years: Glace Bay Hospital, Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville and the Western Health Centre in Berwick (where she worked until her passing).
Sheila played baseball in her younger years and most of her adult life. She also enjoyed skiing, biking, and hiking and music (especially music trivia – if you named just a few words of a song, she could tell you who sang it).
Sheila was caring and kind. She was a loving person and so much fun to be around. Sheila is survived by her son, (Drew); Steve (Drew's dad); her sister, (Marieta); her mother, (Sheilah); her stepfather, (Poppy Ray); nephew, (Ryan); nieces, (Kelley, Amy, and Jennifer); and her very special friend (Tony); Aunt Mitzie, as well as many special aunts and uncles. She had many close friends and co-workers throughout her life and valued each of their friendships.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Valley Regional Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion, as well as Fidelas House in Kentville, N.S., we appreciated all the kindness shown to our family.
There are no words to express our overwhelming gratitude to our cousins (Trevor, Peggy, Debbie, Jeanie, Linda, and Coleen) and to all the team at the T.J. Tracey Funeral Home in Glace Bay and Halifax, thank you for your kindness and guidance, we love you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Visitation for Sheila will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1 p.m., all in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902.849.4199.
Family flowers welcomed.

So, when tomorrow
Starts without me
Don’t think we’re
Far apart
For every time
You think of me
I’m right here in your heart.
