JESSOME, John James, Age 88 of Halifax passed away on August 16, 2023, at home. Born in Glace Bay, NS he was the son of the late Annie Mae (Simmons) and Louis Jessome.
John was a painter at Burke & Chiasson and a volunteer fire man for Glace Bay, NS for many years.
He loved gardening, playing cards and games with family and doing crossword puzzles. He would get the biggest thrill when shopping, finding a good bargain and giving it to someone in need. He was very religious and loved reading the bible. John also supported many charities over the years.
He is survived by his two sons, James Leland Jessome (Sharon), Vincent Leroy Jessome (Michele); 4 Daughters Veronica Lynn Johnston, Karen Ann Jessome-Marsh (Noel), Marguerite Louise Jessome, Audrey Rose Jessome and dear friend and former spouse Shirley; twelve grandchildren, James, Melanie, Megan, Christopher, Tara, Bradley, Alison, Wayne, Coady, Sammy, Tony, Leland; fourteen great-grandchildren, Leland, Grayson, Daxon, Paige, Dawson, Colby, Keegan, Miley, Nora, Colten, Wayne, Daisy, Lydia, Maverick.
Predeceased by his brothers George and Louis; sisters, Marguerite Morrison (Fred), Helen Jessome and Son in-law Bob.
