Obituary of Cheryl "Jiggy" JoAnn Scott

Cheryl JoAnn (Jiggy) (Murphy) Scott New Waterford (Reserve Mines), NS It is with heavy hearts, that we the family of Cheryl JoAnn Scott announce her passing, at home, on August 2, 2023. Born in Reserve Mines, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Shirley (Gallivan) and Danny Murphy. Cheryl was well known for her love for sports, she had four brothers, and all trophies in our home belonged to Cheryl. She married at a young age to the love of her life, Doug. After Doug’s passing, Cheryl spent her remaining years home in Cape Breton. She enjoyed her time with her furry friends Kaylee and Jake, who she loved and cherished. Cheryl also cherished her time spent with “The Girls”, her two youngest nieces, Maddy and Libby (her string bean). Cheryl is survived by brothers Joe Murphy, Glace Bay, and Gordon Murphy, Alberta; sister Crystal Murphy (Jamie MacGillivary); 6 nieces, Libby, Maddy, Brittany, Hillary, Megan, and Ashley; four nephews, Ryan, Jordan, Jeffrey, and Daniel. She was also survived by special friends Colleen, Suzanne, and Donna. Along with her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Doug Scott; brothers Wendell (Cook) Murphy, Darren Murphy, and sister-in-law Dolores Murphy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902-849-4199.
