Rose Marie Chauder River Ryan Age 76 Rose Chauder was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on July 7, 2023, at age 76. She was born to William and Mary-Mahe/Kelloway on Jan 2, 1947, in Glace Bay. Rose met the love of her life, John Chauder, in elementary school and they have been together for over 60 years. Together, they had 4 children: John, Delores, Brian, and Matthew. She is survived by her loving husband, John, and their children, Delores (Bill), Brian (Sandie) and Matthew (Kylie), and grandchildren, Jayme, Ben, and Ella. Rose is predeceased by her son John, her brothers Firman and Michael Kelloway, and sister Sabina McPherson. Rose loved cutting and styling her friends’ hair as she worked as a hairdresser in her own salon. After retirement, she spent her time gardening, visiting friends and family, and having a nice cold beer around the pool. Her loving heart was a beacon of light, and her bright smile will be missed by all who knew her. The following people were closest to her and will miss her dearly: Sandra and Gordie Turnbull, Danny and Donalda Chauder, Lynn Young, Delores Kelloway, neighbors and friends Maddie and Kevin McNeil, Mark and Wendy Marinelli, Ann and Al Karmaschek, and friend Connie McInnis. A “Celebration of Life” event will happen on Saturday, Aug 5, 2023, in the Dominion Fire Hall from 11-2 pm, and is open to all family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada on her behalf. Words of comfort may be expressed to Rose’s family by visiting www.tjtracey.com.
