Obituary of Judith Tonks-O'Rourke

TONKS- O’ROURKE, Judith, 61, of Sackville, passed away at home on June 26, 2023. Born in Halifax Nova Scotia, Judith was a daughter of the late, Thomas and Rita Tonks. Judith (Judie) worked her younger years at Shoppers Drug-mart before becoming a pharmaceutical technician at the QEII Hospital, where she stayed until her retirement. Judie was always a joy to be around and a beautiful person to have in your life. She loved taking care of the things around her and it truly showed. Judie loved tending to her garden and her many household plants. She spent her years being a loving mother and grandmother, bringing fun and laughter into any day she shared with them. Anyone that was lucky to have known her, would have said she radiated a glow that made you feel warm and loved. That glow will forever be missed by all her family and close friends. Survived by her partner, Mark O'Rourke of 3 years; her son, John O'Rourke; daughter, Shawna O'Rourke; her siblings, Michael Tonks, Thomas Tonks, Shirley Roche; and her grandchildren, Jocelyn O’Rourke, and Jayme O'Rourke. Besides her parents Judith was predeceased by her brother, William Tonks; and brother in-law Cage Roche. Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax (902)835-4212, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax, NS B3S 1C4, where visitation will be held on July 6, 2023 from 11:00am-1:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm in the Chapel.
