Obituary of Dolores "Cookie" Marie MacNeil RN

MacNeil,RN. Dolores “Cookie” Glace Bay It is with deep sadness that we the family of Dolores “Cookie” MacNeil, announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, Cookie was the daughter of the late Thomas and Viola Dye. Cookies greatest pride and joy was being a Nurse for 37 years in the Glace Bay General Hospital. Her dedication and faith in her church were one of her strong traits, Cookie was an elder at Epworth United Church, and was a member of Knox United. Cookie had such a great love for her family and many family outings; she also enjoyed her trips to the Casino with friends every now and again. Cookie will be greatly missed by many of her family and friends. Cookie is survived by a brother Thomas Jr. (Corrine) of Reserve Mines; two sisters: Erma McNeil and Viola White of Ottawa; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and best friend Leonard, and sister Myrna Carol. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation, or The Diabetic Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J.
