Dear Bob & family,
My deepest sympathy to you and your girls as you grieve and mourn your wife ,mother and friend.
My sister,Kate Gormley introduced me to Jane years ago. I always saw Jane as a bright light.
The priviledge was mine to speak with Jane weeks before she died.
Years ago I wrote a poem for one of my young patients who was facing his death. The poem is called"
REMEMBRANCE....AS I KNOW JANE SIMPLY WANTED TO BE REMEMBERED..
PEACE IS YOUR GIFT TO US AS YOU GO TOWARDS THE LIGHT;THIS IS A TIME OF GENTLE TRANSITION AS YOU GRACIOUSLY LEAVE THE NIGHT.YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON,CLOTHED WITH QUALITIES FROM ON HIGH,YOUR UNIQUENESS WILL BE REMEMBERED AND YOUR LOVE WILL NEVER DIE.PEACE IS YOUR GIFT TO US AS THE ANGELS CARRY YOU TO SHALOM. IN OUR HEARTS AND SPIRITS, YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A HOME.

When I moved from Halifax to be head nurse Obs/Gyn in Truro, it was my very good luck and honour to have on my staff Jane Peebles (and Kate). She had been a nurse almost 10 years longer than I,and was incredibly willing to share her knowledge and perspective with this newbie and naive manager. We were "come from away-ers" in a smaller town, and that was a foreign concept to me. She and Bob made us feel not only welcome, but befriended, and we are forever grateful. When we left Truro, Jane was already making her mark at the Agricultural College, and we fell out of touch. I am sad to hear of her passing- it is a loss because my life was enhanced by hers, and I liked the thought that I could run into her again at any time. Bob, consider yourself hugged heartily by Brian and I.

Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you go forward without your beautiful wife and mother. We have such wonderful memories of Jane’s bright, cheerful and happy demeanour whenever and wherever we gathered during our winter sojourns to Myrtle Beach. Her lovely smile would lighten every heart and her happiness would be picked up by everyone she encountered. She leaves a very large hole for all who knew her. To the family we wish that all of those wonderful memories will be a comfort to you in the days and weeks ahead. Hugs Marilyn and Reid

I was fortunate to have known Jane. She was truly exceptional and beautiful in every way. May your memories of her bring you comfort. Her spirit and soul will be with you always.
