It is with great sadness that we the family of Gordon (Gordie) William MacPhee announce his passing at home, on Sunday, November 20, 2022, with his family at his side.
Gordie was the son of the late Gordon and Marie (Young) MacPhee of Glace Bay, NS.
Gordie was an Electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW. He was also a member of St. Anne’s Parish and attended mass regularly. Gordie would like to take in long drives with his wife Darlene and enjoy the scenery of this beautiful island; he enjoyed sitting back and watching the many game shows with Darlene. The most treasured moments for Da was spending time with his grandson Austin, sitting, and watching the NHL Philadelphia Flyers.
Gordie is survived by his wife Darlene (Murphy), of 54 years; a son Patrick (Paddy)MacPhee; two daughters: Tanya Marie (Michael) Jamieson, and Corry Lee MacPhee; brother Tony MacPhee, and sister Lynda (MacPhee) Williamson; his only grandchild Austin James Parsons, as well as his favorite fur baby, Daabs the cat.
Along with his parents, Gordie was predeceased by his siblings; Carol Kelly, Shirley Dunphy, and Elmer MacPhee.
Donations in Gordie’s memory may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902-849-4199. A private family Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
